Roaring Fork Falls: You'll be staying less than a mile from these breathtaking falls. If you're feeling ambitious you can walk to the forestry station ("Busick Work Camp"). Or you can park your car there and walk the gently sloping 1/2 mile path to Roaring Fork Falls. Bring a picnic and pick some wildflowers! Other nearby waterfalls include Setrock Creek Falls and Crabtree Meadows Falls.
Mt. Mitchell Golf Course: An easy walk from where you'll be staying, this is  a beautiful, surprisingly flat mountain course that follows the flow of the South Toe River. The across-the-river holes are especially challenging at Mt. Mitchell, consistently rated one of the top ten courses in North Carolina.

Mt. Mitchell : Climb Mount Mitchell, the highest point east of the Mississippi, for breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, rolling ridges and fertile valleys. Forested and forever misty, 1,855-acre Mount Mitchell State Park will provide you with some of the most tranquil moments you'll ever experience. You can see Mt. Mitchell in the distance from Hemlock Chalet.

The town square in nearby Burnsville: Built around this statue of Otway Burns, you'll find shops, restaurants, the library, the courthouse and the bank. Friday and Saturday nights you'll see local teenagers cruising "the loop" around the town square.

The Mount Mitchell Golf Community: Detailed driving directions will be provided to you upon booking.
